Twitter is buzz and thousands of fans are reacting on the shocking death of famous fashion designer L’Wren Scott who has been found dead after hanging herself in her Manhattan apartment on Monday morning, according to New York police.
Her body was found by her assistant. A medical examiner has yet to determine the official cause of death. “There are many high profile celebrities who are reacting on this shocking loss of fashion industry. Olivia Munn was also among them who paid tribute to the fashion designer on Twitter. Munn wrote, “Shocked and saddened by the passing of @lwrenscott … she was an amazing soul, talented artist and an unbelievably giving friend. RIP.”
Steven Colb, chief executive officer of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, wrote, “So very sad today. L’Wren Scott was such a great talent and beautiful person. My thoughts are with her loved ones.” Olivia Wilde also wrote while paying tribute, “L’Wren Scott was brilliant, elegant, kind, and generous. S***. My heart goes out to her loved ones. What a tragedy.”
A spokesman for the New York police department said in a statement, “At approximately 1005 hours police responded to 200 11th avenue, in the confines of the 10th Precinct. Jagger is currently on tour with his band, and recently arrived in Australia. “Looking forward to the first show in Perth,” he tweeted just four hours ago.
“Upon arrival, officers discovered a 49-year-old female, unconscious and unresponsive. EMS also responded and pronounced the aided DOA at the scene. The investigation is ongoing and the medical examiner will determine the cause of death.”
Scott was a renowned stylist and fashion designer whose clothes have been worn by A-listers including Nicole Kidman, Angelina Jolie and Penelope Cruz. In February, she announced that she had canceled her London Fashion Week show. Scott contributed designs for Madonna in 2009 to wear in her photo shoot with model Jesus Luz for W Magazine and in 2011, Scott styled actress Julia Roberts for a W Magazine shoot, alongside Tom Hanks.
