I did everything right . Good food ( most of the time !) And get a good amount of exercise each week, but those last 25 pounds refused to part forever. I work as a writer and go through the regular severity of tight deadlines and difficult to please customers on a daily basis. Then a few months ago while having coffee with an old friend , I came across an interesting solution to my weight problem .
The first thing my friend said when he saw me was, ” You look stressed ! ” Now, I did have a lot on my plate that week, but was surprised that it was so obvious. My friend, on the other hand looked calm and collected, with a relaxed air about her. How she manages it , I wondered , given the that she held two jobs and raising a child as a parent. So I researched , and what I learned changed my life forever. I’m finally at a healthy body weight, and have never felt better , thanks meditation for weight loss.
The use of meditation for weight loss
Yes , I too was surprised when I fist heard about it. You can meditate and lose weight? Wow ! How is it working? Again, my friend was a perfect example of sitting in front of me . It is in fabulous shape, but more importantly , cheerful and showed no signs of stress at all . On the same day it showed that I was doing a lot for my body, but nothing for my mind. I had no idea that the stress was actually keeping weight on me, so I followed the instructions of my friend , and as they worked so well , here they are for those who want to give it a try.
How does it work?
When I realized that stress was the enemy , I knew I had to start paying attention to calming my mind. There can never deny the fact that as long as there is life and her suffering will stress. So I decided to consciously control it with meditation and visualization. Meditation increases awareness, and as soon as I started becoming more aware of the increased levels of stress , I was able to immediately return to this state of mind and instead focus on doing something nice , like playing your favorite song or watching Seinfeld DVD.
Meditation and the power scheme
Before, I would like to finish a phone conversation or delays on payments and immediately reach for food to make me feel better. As I began to meditate on a regular basis, I was so much more control over your emotions ! Because of this, I did not feel the need just a small bite of that walnut brownie sitting in my fridge . Every time I want to beat stress eating , I am now able to get away from that feeling and instead deal with the real problem , in my opinion.
My research is an ideal place for peace and quiet , and of course , stay in that position phones when I meditate . Lotus works better, but do not worry about it, and sit any way that feels most comfortable. Pay attention to what you wear. Loose clothing that allows you to breathe is very important. Focus on your breathing and let the thoughts that crowd your mind come and go. It will take time to master control over your thoughts and to just ignore them. The next step is to use the most powerful tool at your disposal – visualization. When I meditate, I see myself in my favorite vacation spot , lighter , happier, and best of all, relax.
For a long meditation does not work for someone like me with a crazy schedule, so I went out for 15 minutes every morning . It was about four months old and I went to each session to somewhere between 25 to 30 minutes. Start small , as even 10 minutes of meditation , when done regularly and properly , can do wonders for your weight loss goals . I can not reiterate enough how much benefit I have derived from meditation , both physical and emotional . I feel great , and those last few pounds does not bother me that much more. In the end , I know I will not be either.
