Areej Iqbal Qureshi, one of the four emerging designers who exhibited their collections at the opening of Fashion Pakistan Week Spring/Summer 2017, was declared winner of the Bank Alfalah Rising Talent award at the closing of the event.
The 11th Pakistan Fashion Week officially began on February 22 in Karachi. Fashion Pakistan primordial conduct semi-annual Fashion Week is the leading platform for the designers of the country, aims to encourage and promote the upcoming fashion designers and brands.

This year also marks the 10th anniversary of the Year of Fashion Pakistan. Founded in 2007, the representative body of local fashion fraternity was created by designers for designers. The Council brought the Pakistani fashion on the global map, introduced the concept of Fashion Week, formal fashion business and has launched many world-renowned designers and local talent in this area.
Fashion Pakistan pioneered the concept of fashion week in Pakistan, from the very first Fashion Pakistan Week, which took place in 2010. Since then, the Council is constantly looking at new ways to support and strengthen the growing fashion industry of Pakistan.
The queue for the 1st day of Fashion Pakistan Week included collections from famous designers like Ayesha Farooq, Nauman Arfeen, Nida Azwer, Tena Durrani and FNKASIA, a special segment to showcase upcoming designers in the Bank Alfalah Rising Talent where Tooba chottani designers, Areej Iqbal Fatima Abdul Rauf, Zafar Ahsan Naqvi presented their creative collections. Urdu 1 Photos also gave a curtain raiser for his upcoming film “Mehrunisa V bast You” with a special segment. The first day came to an end with Tina Durrani.
On the first day of fashion week, Pakistan has seen a lot of celebrities who are on the ramp for designers, Aimen Ltd. and Muneeb Butt walked the ramp for wild collection vest Nauman Arfeen, in stunning Sumbul Iqbal was the showstopper for FNKASIA and beautiful Syra Shehroz walked the ramp for Tina Durrani.
Fashion Pakistan – Bank Alfalah Rising Talent Showcase saw four new designers who presented their collections through the Rising Talent Bank Alfalah platform in the opening day of the Pakistan Fashion Week. Bank Alfalah Rising Talent program aims to motivate, inspire and recognize the upcoming young and talented in the country and gives them the opportunity to showcase their talent.
Four debut designers vie for Alfalah Bank Growing Talent Award and tries to make a mark in the Pakistani fashion industry included Tooba chottani with the Asian Institute of Fashion Design, Zafar Ahsan Naqvi of the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture and Fatima Abdul Rehman of the Pakistan Institute of Fashion Design.
Four designers presented their collections for the first time on day one of fashion Week 2017 in Pakistan, and has received encouraging response from the audience. Through this award, the Bank provides a prestigious platform for young designers to showcase their projects and a cash prize of Rs. 500000.
Best designer chosen through a transparent voting members of the jury and the public, will be announced at the Final Day FPW S / S2017.
