3. Blush or bronzer
I think blush, to be non-current makeup of the village. Napkins color on the cheeks and creates a natural healthy glow. In the middle of finals, quickly swipe blush leave you looking and did not wake up, you just spent all night in the library.
If your skin is naturally more tan, bronzer can look more natural than a blush. Also, if you are naturally fair skin, like me, applying bronzer in the warmer months, giving you a sun-kissed look without compromising the Sun. It is best to apply bronzer (with a big, fluffy brush) where the sun naturally enters your face – curved “S” shape on each side of your face from the forehead to the cheek bones and a dab on the nose.
Eye Makeup Tips
Black or dark brown mascara is essential for everyday look. This is the fastest way to make your eyes pop. We love L’Oreal voluminous, but Maybelline Lash Great Cover Girl LashBlast and other CF reader favorites.
Eyeliner can be applied in many ways to define your eyes. For more information, check out our Eyeliner 101 tutorial. Classic black shade is a necessity for most skin tones, if you have fair skin, opt for a dark brown. In addition, light to medium skin tones should be considered a dark navy blue, dark blue, because it makes the whites of your eyes pop, therefore, making you more awake. I suggest mechanical pencil eyeliner, because they do not require sharpening, which allows you to skip a step.
6. Eyebrow Pencil
If you are not blessed with dark, perfectly even eyebrows, you should seriously consider including eyebrows pencil to your makeup collection. Eyebrows liners can be used to identify and fill in sparse brows, if you happen to take them over. Defined eyebrows need to fix the Smokey eye look and emphasizes the natural features of the face.
For your basic makeup collection, it’s a good idea to have some natural tan, dark gray and off-white shade of eye shadow. These shades are perfect for everyday school and work, sort of. Almost all of the drugstore beauty brands are producing sets of eye shadow with a few shades in them. They are ideal for beginners makeup because it takes all the guesswork out of the search of additional shades to highlight and define your eyes.
Tips for Beautiful Lips
8. Lip Balm
As most of you probably know, the big balm does wonders for keeping your lips smooth and healthy, especially in those harsh winter months. Stock up on some lip balms, so you can store them in your purse and backpack as well, for easy reuse. EOS Balm featured above is not only enchanting shape, but it is 100% natural and USDA-certified organic, to boot.
9 Lip Gloss or Stain
GLOSSITIS clear winner over lipstick for college students. They have a clean, natural look and so much easier to apply than lipstick. Napkins gloss perfect finishing touch for any look. For longer wear, you can choose instead of lip stain, which will last until all of your classes without strokes.
This is the easiest and most cost-effective to accumulate on the hand all at once, buying a set of brushes. Look for a set with a large powder brush, brush a bit smaller for contour and several brushes for shadows and liner application.
It’s a good idea to invest in some quality brushes, because as long as you clean them regularly, they will last you a long time. If you are not sure, try to apply some shadows with cheap quality brush on the other side with one of the highest quality – you will see the obvious difference.
For all the obvious reasons. We love Tweezerman tweezers – In our experience, they do work better, and, well, they also come in beautiful colors and patterns.
They are great for smudging eyeliner and soak in nail quick touch ups. Even better? They are super cheap.
